been away in the caravan with andrea since sunday at millhouse caravan park near worcester and what a great time we had. weather brilliant and fishing was excellent. was great to get back on some moving water and watch my stick float trundle down stream. the spot they gave us couldn't have been any better had the peg on the wear pool 10 yards from the van, mine and andrea's home for 4 days below.
my peg for most of the 4 days just behind the van, how good is that ?
through out the week i caught loads of good quality real river perch that fight like mad when hooked, a good number of chub most around th1 lb to 1 1/2 pound bracket, lots of dace, millions of gudgeon a good number of roach, a few eel's and just the 1 rudd that i expect escaped from the pools next door at hawford fishery in the winter floods.
below one of the other pegs i ran a stick down.
i took the picture below at about 10pm from the bridge across the mill.
one of the excellent perch i pulled from the mill pond.
another swim i pulled some nice perch from.
and another
hows this for a stick float swim ?
site was packed when we arrived on sunday but come monday there was only 4 occupied caravans and a couple of tents on the site and i was the only one fishing, had the river to my self
mrs smith caught reading her book out in the sun behind my peg
the river behind the weir as it runs off through the mill
the old millhouse.
the peg behind the weir very good for eels here.
the pegs to the right at the back of the weir.
right behind the weir, thats my van in the back ground.
this is where i caught my 1 rudd.
this is the average size of the chub i caught not monsters about 1lb in weight but good fun on light tackle in fast water.
my tackle behind the weir.
anway we had a great few days and looking foreward to going back ther soon.
