well the matches are coming thick and fast now and after spending the day before with john and mark poole slaughtering the carp on willows and telling all the other members the club record was sure to go
it turned out to be bloody hard work for all concerned. not just that the fishing was hard but having to put up with colin horner farting none stop for 5 hours in the next peg to me. tony also had to put up with conky's continual snoring throughout the match and had to give him the odd poke with his pole to wake him up !
we had excellent weather and i thought we were going to have one of the best matches in club history, WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the fish didn't want to come out to play
there were a few carp being dragged out around the pool but not many it has to be said. colin was banging out loads of silvers from the margin but unknown to him he had a hole in his keepnet and about 4lbs of fish said goodbye without being weighed in
i could see most of the lads starting to catch a few carp in the last hour or so and it was the same for me. i started to get quite a bit of interest under trees in the corner peg i was fishing. trouble was they all knew where the tree roots were as soon as they were hooked they were straight into em, lost some good fish in there
i did manage to net a few though. i knew it was going to be very close but was shocked to find out i had won the match i was sure tony kibble had more than me but just goes to show how hard it is to guess yours or anyone else weight.
anyway onto the pictures supplied once again by john poole.
