well all club aggreagate matches now finished it was time for the start of our 4 match winter league. fishing at the riddings on the foley pool. things looked good at the draw the pool looked fantastic with plenty of carp topping and leaping from the water , couldn't fail could we ? well i could , i buggered up by not taking any maggots! top bait on the day, yes you guessed it maggots! tony kibble did a bit of bank walking after the first two hours and informed me he was catching bugger all with only a couple of small perch in his net. three hours later and armed with a pint of maggots he weighed in 25lb plus! well done tony great fishing mate. i could see gordon chester to my left landing a good few fish all day long and well done to gordon finishing second on the day.dave gordon to my right at last caught his first ever barbel, now all he has to do is catch one on running water! a couple of lovely looking goldfish were caught along with plenty of silvers but the carp were hard going today. i would like to say welcome to the clubs newest member stuart berrow who joined us today for the first time and i'm sure he will have a great time with a very friendly bunch of lads over his time with the club.also today i must mention that mark poole had a smile on his face for the first time this season. mark who has had a difficult season after a coulpe of great years with the club was back where he belongs i the top 3 , well done mate. big pete was in the last peg and with about 10 empty pegs he could throw his dam buster feeder as far as he waneted, and he caught a good few fish, well done peter.coilin and stan also had a good day both just missing out on the money.
