well after a few dropped out with flu we were down to 8 hardy souls at a blustery highley's farm. don't know whats happened to the water level but it was down by at least 3 feet , we would have struggled to get 12 pegs in if everyone had turned up. i plumbed my peg to find 12 inches of water that was crystal clear at 11 meters the edge of the weed
dave and alf were to my left and had to put up with an awful cold wind making fishing almost impossible.on the other bank big pete fished a candle float with floating bread, somebody tell him fish don't feed off the surface in the winter, or so they shouldn't
on the other side pete ,micky, david evans and colin fished on a calm flat surface out of the wind. while myself alf, dave gordon and paul davis shivered in the cold wind, big pete fished on in just a t- shirt
daft git!
anyway result, as i said fish don't feed in the winter on the surface (eat ya words smiffy )
