today was our second winter league match at the riddings on the riddings pool. weather was showery but mild with almost no wind. i drew peg 2 with neil and colin either side of me .next to colin was mr mobbs who didn't catch much but enjoyed himself singing his head off for most of the match, at least i think it was singing!
anyway off we went as the whistle sounded and down came the first shower
once i sorted my brolly out i at last settled down to start fishing. i didn't expect to catch a a lot, maybe a few roach but my float dipped first cast and i was into a skimmer. in fact i can honestly say i had a bite every cast all day long. i fished the pole at 9 meteres fishing single red maggot over brown crumb mixed with green crumb and laced with garlic crazy bait spray, size 20 hook to a 2 pound bottom as i had been told by alf who fished the venue earlier in the week that they had caught loads of silvers so thats what i targeted . i was doing well with skimmers, roach, a few perch and even gudgeon. i suspected that someone would go and spoil it by catching a bloody big carp and thats exactly what happened . my nemesis mr kibble the older went and landed a bloody 8lber match over
. anyway no hard feelings well done tony AGAIN! (spit )
it turned out to be a great winter match with everyone catching, well done lads.
