fished at the riddings foley pool. 16 pegs booked for the last match of this years winter league matches.
we fished pegs 2 to 17. at the draw no one wanted to draw the early pegs as they never fished well when we were there last time. well neil drew peg 3 one he didin't want and went on to finish second
i was in peg 7 even though i drew peg 6 don't ask
i had john cummins to my left and alfie to my right. i started off well in bright warm sunshine knocking out a good few bits. i also managed to put 3 small carp on the scales. john was struggling early on and alfie was alfie catching bugger all AGAIN!!!
then it was all change the sun went in the clouds came over and a freezing cold wind started to blow time to put the sun glasses away and get my coat on. the change in weather killed my peg stone dead but john started to catch! he netted a few small carp and a very welcome barbel. news was coming back from our resident bank walker alfie that neil was putting togeter a decent bag of fish. late on tony kibble was up to his normal trick of catching in the last hour putting together a good bag of fish. i never had a bite in the last two hours but john, tony and neil were still catching. it looked like it would close between those 3. i was glad to hear the final whistle as i was freezing and struggling for a single bite. on to weigh in and it was tony who came out on top with 11-08-00 mixed bag, neil 2nd with 10--08-00, third john cummins with a very respectable 06-04-00. congratulations to these three lads and also john poole who was 4th. full results can be viewed on results board. a big congratulations to tony kibble who was crowned winter league champion 2012/13 another trophy to the kibble house hold, well done tony. i have to say though that if neil had have fished the first match of this series he could have come last and won the trophy! he came second in all 3 matches he fished and picked up 14 points for a no show in match 1. because there were so many dry nets the most points he could have picked would have been 7 total for all matches = 13. tony won it with 14 points! fish em all next time neil
final placings can also be viewed on results board. well done all.
