well after yesterdays rain we feared the worst for today. after meeting up and driving down the m 6 to lanny's lagoon things did not look good when fishery was locked up and owner no where to be seen! anyway after a few minutes the chap arrived to open up . draw done and everyone went off to their pegs. weather was warm with no wind and strangest of all lots of sun shine!
i drew peg 5 with big pete next to me, this was not going to be a quiet day!!!!!!!!!!
i could see john poole in my eyeline catching some nice carp from the off
crafty dave gordon hidden behind the island thought no one could see him but i could see he was doing well. tony kibble was up to his normal tricks catching late on again catcing some nice carp. i was catching some very decent carp throughout the day trouble was so was john poole and to make things worse i was in the golden peg
all day i was trying to catch a decent koi that was swimming about on the surface and at last the bugger took the bait and he was in my net, well chuffed. only big pete seemed to be having problems and at one staged slung
his rods and bait bucket into the trees in a fit of temper (stupid boy
)
anyway the 5 hours flew past and it was on to the weigh in. in peg 2 mr kibble had one very nice carp in his net, seen below holding it
in peg 1 and having a decent day's fishing again was big bad john snr, well done john
around the corner we find me with my prized koi carp
doing a great job as per normal it's smileing mark poole on weighing in duty
come on neil there must be some fish in there some where mate
a decent bag of fish hits the scales
here we find gordon who also had a good day on the bank, well done mate.
now here is a turn up for the books alfie mobbs with a good bag of fish, i want him drug tested
well done alfie
joly john cummings ready for the weigh in .
my old man was catching well again today and almost smiled at the weigh in
oh dear , enough said as you can see not everyone was catching carp
andrew had another steady day and once again put a few fish on the scales.
john jnr seems happy with his huge 4 oz catch
well done john boy
it's our very own security guard / bouncer dave gordon wearing his ear piece
dave's turn to weigh in .
crafty dave gordon poses with one of the carp he bagged today, well done david
oh dear stanley ain't you bloody hot in all that gear
yet another good bag of fish
well as it turned out the weather was kind to us for a change this year. only pete blanked and there were some good weights with john poole coming out on top with 53lb plus me second dave g third, tony fourth and wait for it alf............... yes i said alf coming fifth
well done all. now we look foreward to a day out on the coach to leigh sinton in three weeks, see ya all there chaps
