bromford residence a.c. autumn challenge trophy

well summer has gone and we are getting closer to the seasons end. this was the clubs last but one match. i had booked us in on buzzards valley's osprey pool. last time we fished it one carp won it 5 years ago! needless to say we was not expecting a lot of big weights today. on arriving at fishery nothing to say we had a match on the pool. while setting up balief came around asking everyone if they wanted a breakfast/ sandwich. i have no record of you booking this match im told! who did you book it with ? not sure of name but it was a women. helen i'm asked, yes that was it i replied. she had not told me im told. he must have spoken to helen cuz he never came back!
anyway as match started i knew it was going to be hard my normal pellet and paste was a waste of time they wouldn't touch it. i went on to my tiddler rig with 18 hook and single red maggot and started to catch skimmers, perch and roach. an hour in i hit a decent carp and on such light tackle my elastic stretched for miles! i landed the fish about 5lbs next put in i lost another good carp followed by another carp of about 5 lbs 3 in 3 casts.
next to me i had nick lane to my left and jim langston to my right they have won almost all the trophies between em this years so i felt like the meat in the sandwich! nick and jim were both in the singles k.o final today and from what i could see it was going to be close as they were both catching a few.weather wise we had one damn good shower but at least the wind had dropped and when the sun did come out it was quite hot.
anyway it fished a lot better than expected lots of carp came out to play. colin horner who won the match lost his rod, reel and rod rest as a carp took his tackle never to be seen again!anyway on to the pics. first up colin hewitt fishing right next to his car
