well it was an early start this time out meeting at 7am on the club car park. with everyone ready and on time we made our way off to the fishery. we were met at the fishery by the bailiff who made us very welcome and took the bacon sandwich order.
i drew peg 19 and was quite happy with that, i had peter ( barnes wallace ) mcalinden to my right with a terrible case of wind
and micky (jammy git) davis to my left. dave gordon was his normal moaning self
after drawing the one peg he didn't want. anyway as the whistle went and the smell of bacon wafted across the pool i was full of confidence as carp were leaping out all over the pool. first cast i lost a decent fish in the rushes
micky was soon into a decent carp on the paste (git
)it was very slow to start with not many fish being caught. this was the first round of the doubles k.o. and me and my partner alfie (no fish ) mobbs were doing very well , no fish each
as the day went on fish started to feed all round the pool except in mine and alfie's peg
dave gordon had stopped moanig so i knew he was catching
paul davis was bagging up as was marie woulahan in the next peg. as for crafty git dave (£ rod ) preece he was also into a few fish. old barnes wallace had rigged a bouncing bomb of a feeder which must have weighed about 4oz!!!!!!!!!! in it went, SPLASH!! in a different spot every cast and he started catching
anyway 5 hours soon passed and it looked like it was between ken german, paul davis, dave gordon and tony kibble. after the fish were weighed paul came out on top with over 20lb to win his second trophy of the season, well done paul. the fishing turned out harder than i thought it would but there were still some good fish caught and tony kibble caught the biggest fish so far a 7lb 14oz carp to beat the one i caught at highley farm, well done tony (spit

everyone seemed to enjoy the day and we are already looking forward to the next match.
