well to day we headed down the m42 to the riddings fishery near tamworth well most of us did john goode took the scenic route , long story and a long way round , poor old john
anyway draw made and off we trudged to our pegs. it wasn't just wet it was windy and bloody muddy as most of the old buggers fishing will tell you, most of em ended up on their arses in the mud didn't you alf, peter and jim
i drew peg two with john goode for company to my right when he decided to come off at the right junction and join us
and i had stewart and mr gordon to my left. i could only see john goode during the match so i had no idea how the others were doing. i fished at about 9 meters at dead depth using expanders on the hook over a bed of ground bait mixed with corn and red maggots which i topped up through out the day. i was catching plenty of roach, rudd ,skimmers and perch. the only carp i hit took a dislike to my landing net and slipped the hook, oh dear said i !
john when he did get going was dragging out a few skimmers as for the others ? i'd have to wait for the weigh in.the final whistle blown and off we went to peg 12 to weigh in big pete. he'd had a good day with a few small carp and even a goldfish in his net and weighed in a very respectable catch of over 13lbs well done big fella.
