well it soon comes around every year. we all met up at the club car park to board the coach to worcester at 7:45 am. coach loaded and off we went. just short of the motorway i thought to myself DAN CONSTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! he's not on the coach
bugga! fair play to the coach driver he turned his 50 seater around and went back to pick dan and his grandad , great start to the day
anyway there were no more problems on route to worcester, thank god
first stop down by the race tarck next to the river to drop off all the none fishermen/women so they could spend the day doing what ever they wanted for 8 hours, my mrs and mate spent the whole 8 hours shopping! thank god i went fishing
and in the case of tony martin and his band of geriatric trouble makers they spent all 8 hours in the pub! and looking at the state of em when we returned to pick em up they must have had a drink in every pub in worcester
next destination lower broadheath (the jam factory) about a 10 minute run from worcester town centre.
coach unloaded next to the sycamore pool it was down to the main business of the day dragging them carp from the depths of the pool. i drew peg 1 and had dave (iv'e forgot my landing net pole) gordon to my left and mr poole the elder to my right.started on the pole with punched meat hair rigged on the bottom about 10 feet in depth at 10 meters but all i could hit was skimmers!
looking around the pool i could see most of the lads had found the carp already. bob williams red elastic was stretching across the pool when "twang" fish gone elastic wrapped around his head and bob said " oh dear " or something like that
dave gordon kept hooking em and kept bumping em followed by "iv'e forgot my landing net pole"
john to my right was catching small carp quite steadily. a couple of pegs from me nick lane had a slow start on the pellet waggler but when he started to catch there was no stopping the bugga!
and dave gordon said " iv'e forgot my landing net "
across the other side of the pool i could see mark poole and adrian constable putting together decent bags of fish.as for me all i had was ear ache as dave gordon told me " iv'e forgot my landing net pole "
john kept catching, nick kept catching then dave ( "iv'e forgot my landing net pole ") gordon started catching
i had to make changes. away went the pole and out went the pellet feeder and at last i caught my first carp! trouble was it was a while before i caught any more while john, nick and dave ( "ive forgot my landing net pole ") kept bagging up. the sun was out and it was bloody hot and as i just finished covering myself in sun cream it poured down!!!
it took a while but i did start to catch a few but it was far to late to worry the scales.
anyway dave ( " ive forgot my landing net pole " ) who had borrowed an extending bank stick off mark to screw his landing net to ,shipped it back in the rain and the point on the end went staright through his brand new brolly that he'd just paid 85 quid for!
we didn't laugh did we lads , no not much we didn't
well at the end of the match it looked like it was going to be close but you can't believe any of the truth benders in this club!
dan constable told me he'd caught bugga all and then ended up second , we should have left him on the car park when we forgot him
weigh in done and the winner was once again mr nick lane withh 66lb plus with dan second, john third dave ( "ive forgot my landing net pole " ) 4th and adrian 5th. well done all .not the best weights ever but at least everyone caught some fish and had a great day pool side.
onto the pictures and firt up it's me
