well the matches are coming thick and fast now and last saturday saw the clubs 3rd bye trophy fished at bonehill mill fazeley. we had wind, rain, sun broken poles and even a member going for a swim
the match also saw all members slugging it out in the first round of the doubles k.o.'s and the second round of the singles k.o.'s
i ended up on peg three a peg fished two days earlier by mr gordon who struggled to get amonst the carp!
anyway after putting in a couple of pots of the fisheries own micro pellets the water started to fizz!
first put in i was into a carp
then disaster.............CRACK!!!!!!!! my number 4 section of my pole snapped
bugger i said to myself
at this stage i almost decided to pack in and go home. well i decided to soldier on fishing three feet out with my top two power sections as that was all i could do!
after re-bating at 3 feet the water started to fizz up again. at this stage i decided to make a paste from the pellets i was using. bingo instant result i was into to the carp
it was a bit hairy hitting hard fighting cap on a three feet rod! real hit and hold stuff. i could only see colin horner, david evans, stan, gordon and mr kibble from where i fished and i could see most were doing well. mr kibble seemed to be having a carp a chuck while gordon decided to go for a swim
(fishing is only allowed from the landing stages mr chester!
anyway at the weigh in, mark poole took an early lead weighing in 20lb, good start.my turn and i was well pleased with my 55lb mainly carp catch, a new club record
anyway around the pool we went and it was tony kibbles turn, this would be close i thought
he blew me away with a brilliant winning and a NEW club record of 67lb (well done sir , git!
micky davis also put 30lb plus on the bank so a good day was had by all.
i will post the k.o. results and next round draws on another page.
