a quick run through of the main points discussed at the clubs a.g.m which took place at the raven pub sunday 29th jan 2023
18 members plus 1 honorary attended. apologies from a.gould ,a.constable was missing.
secretary thanked everyone for their help in making the club run smothly through the 2022 season.
1 member has decided to leave the club which was craig toal who will be replaced by micky clifford who was introduced to the attending members. craig is always welcome to fish with us as a guest peg numbers permitting.
their was a quick review of the 2022 season.
the coming season 2023:
all members were handed venue sheets for the coming season.
once again there will be 10 aggregate matches.
jim langston celebrates his 65th bithday this year and has decided to book and pay for a match to celebrate the big event. to be fished at lower park over 2 pools and we will be fishing for the spring open trophy. a big thank you to jim.
the club has had 2 trophies donated by johnny crisp, and we have a new competition to fish for them. we will be introducing a pairs aggregate league for 2023. who ever you have been drawn with in the pairs k.o. you will stay together for the aggregate pairs, both winners will win 1 of the new trophies each and will stay together for the following year to defend their title.
it was decided that the 4 place pools payout should be scrapped and replaced with a 1,2,3, payout with the 4th place being replaced with 2 section payouts, the 4th place payout will be split between the 2 section winners.
clubs finances were explained by the secretary and payment cards were handed out to all members.
subscriptions will remain at £55 for the coming season. all subscriptions MUST BE PAID IN FULL by the alvechurch match in july.
weighing in for the coming season will done by p.hanson,d. constable,s.berrow with n.wells as a substute.
a.gould and k.lane will once again be in charge of pegging.
d.gordon will continue as club chairman, s.preece will continue as treasuer and k.smith will continue as secretary.
this years presentation evening will be held at the raven pub once again on saturday 25th november.
this years annual coach trip will take place at lower broadheath on 5th august. cost of coach is £400. cost of seats will be £12 first come 1st served.
any problems with pegs must be sorted out by dan,adrian and mark . so if your not happy with your peg see one of the above 3 not club secretary.
golden peg to stay as same format.
club to remain based at the raven.
the club has entered a team of 5 into the marston fields king of clubs match. next year whoever finishes in the top 5 of the aggregate will be picked to represent us next year.
it was decided that if a k.o. match has neither or all members not turning up the match will be decided by the toss of a coin.
all draws for pairs,singles teams of 4 took place after meeting was closed.
early pegs for 2023 will taken by b.williams,t.perry and j.poole when he fishes. also if p.mann has his knee op during the next season he will then be included in the early pegs.
